This record is in the Delaware Archives, New Castle County Deeds, Vol T-1, pg 331-333

"This Indenture made this Seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Seven Between Joseph Gorby of Brandywine hundred in the County of Newcastle upon Delaware and Mary his Wife of the one part and James Houston Junior of Brandywine Hundred aforesaid of the other part Whereas the Commissioners of property by warrent of the first of August 1689 Granted One hundred acres of Land in New Castle County Isral Peterson and the same was surveyed by George Daykend the 17 day of September 1714 and whereas the said Isral Peterson by his Deed of the 19 of January 1722 Conveyed the same to one Hance Peterson Who by Deed of the 11th of February 1722 Conveyed the same to Erasmus Stedham Who by his last Will and Testament Bearing date the 24th of August 1732 amongst other things therein mentioned gave unto his Wife the above said Mary whatsoever remained after his Just Debts were paid...

...said Wife Mary hath since intermarried with the said Joseph Gorbey and whereas the said Erasmus Stedham Did Leave to survive him Two Daughters and one Son the Daughters to witt Mary who hath since intermarried with one Jeremiah Collet and Cathren who hath since intermarried with one James Adair and Whereas the said Jeremiah Collet and Mary his wife and James Adair and Catherin his Wife For the Better Confirming the said Land unto the said Joseph Gorbey and Mary his Wife Did by their release dated the 3rd day of June anno Dom. 1757 for the Consideration therein mentioned Grant transfer and release the said one hundred acres of Land with one other hundred acres unto the said Joseph Gorbey and his heirs and assigns forever...

...one hundred acres of land and being situate in Brandywine hundred and County aforesaid Beginning at a Mark Beech Standing by Shilpot Creek..."
